"Isn't that what most of our kind does, you're the only other sane conduit I've ever met." Jacob said, smiling. With all this smiling he was thinking he was turning into the Cheshire Cat or something. He glanced down and noticed that the pizza was now gone and a bill sat in its place. In the conversation someone must have put it there. It had gotten later also, near to closing time.

I blushed slightly and smiled right back at him. No one had ever put it like that before. " Same here, except for one other but I have no idea where she is anymore." I replied, shrugging slightly. I glanced around and my eyes widened. Huh. I hadn't noticed how late it had gotten.

Being the last people in the bar made Jacob feel self-conscious, but a little more comfortable. He looked around to see one worker wiping down tables. Their waitress came by and got the check which Jacob had paid for. He looked at Cory and said, "No cost, my treat to you." He didn't have a lot of money, but he paid anyways just to be a gentlemen.

I blushed slightly at the courtesy and smiled. I didn't rally now the do's and dont's of who payed what but it couldn't be too hard. " Next time will be on me, neh?" I said, grinning slightly.

Jacob laughed and replied, "Only if you're offering to pay!" The big grin on his face faded when a man came over and informed them that it was closing time and they had to leave. Crap. "We should do this again, Cory," Jacob said, standing up from the table, "I really like you. Next time at my place maybe?"

I quickly stood up too and nodded my head. " I...I really like you too. I would love to um...'meet up'? at your place next time." I responded, trying hard to get the terms rigt though I'm sure I must have messed up somewhere.

I laughed and looked at her, "You're one crazy girl, Cory. I like that." He said. He then left the place, trying to act cool. He was pretty sure he failed.

I chuckled and followed out after him. " When you say crazy it doesn't sound as cruel as the others." I said, grinning brightly. I followed out after him, all the while contemplating whether or not to hold his hand. Once we were outside I smiled and daringly took his hand. He liked me so the probability of him getting angry should be less.

Jacob let Cory hold his hand. Was this romance? Maybe the beginning of it. Jacob didn't know. He had a flashback to a movie he once watched, Forrest Gump. It was an awesome movie with a lot of awesome quotes. Jacob chose one of these quotes to tell Cory. "I may be stupid, but I know what love is."

I glanced up at him and smiled slightly. I lightly tapped his nose with my free hand and giggled. " Quoting Shakespeare now are we?" I asked teasingly, but really just trying to downplay the bright red blush that had become present on my cheeks.

As Cory poked his nose, Jacob turned it into gold. He turned it back ti skin after about a second. He smiled gently and squeezed Cory's hand, "Why, you like Shakespeare?" He said, smiling. He noticed that Cory was blushing a bit, and he leaned in and kissed her on the cheek.

My eyes widened slightly and a small gasp escaped my lips as I stared at his golden nose. God, that was just too cool! I blushed slightly and nodded my head." Yes...I had a lot of free time on my hands and my father always got me lots of books." I responded, shrugging slightly. Hmm;whys he leaning in- asdkfdkfkdshffghk. My cheeks burned a bright red and I stood there in lala land like an idjit.

Jacob realized what he had done and made a lame attempt to apologize, "Um...sorry. Emotions sort of got ahold of me. I shouldn't have done that." He blushed a bit. Hmhe didn't even know if she had a boyfriend.

I came back from lala land and stared up at him. I smiled and chuckled lightly. He looked cute when he blushed like that. " You don't have to apologize. I'm just very bad at...well reacting to things..." I said, now lightly blushing myself.

"Still is no excuse. Unless you're fine with it. And I don't know if you are." Jacob said. He felt bad for kissing Cory after barely getting to know her, but he felt like they had something going.

I stared up at him inquiringly. That surely didn't happen in books. Usually the hero would kiss the girl silly. Well this is RL...Hmmm. I smiled slightly and leaned forward, kissing him on the cheek. " I don't mind." I murmured in response, a light blush making its way onto my cheeks.

Now it was Jacob's turn to blush. His cheeks turned a cherry red color, that he hoped couldn't be seen in the night time air. Yeah, he was falling hard for Cory. She was different...he stood there, zoned out for a second, before trying to snap himself back into focus.

I giggled seeing him all zoned out. For once it wasn't me ^^. I lightly pocked him on the cheek and grinned. " You ok or was that too forward?" I asked, suddenly realizing that maybe he was contemplating running away or something. That would suck.

"No, I'm not okay..." Jacob said, a small grin appearing on his face, "I'm better than okay...by a long shot! Would you like to, I don't know, come to my place that I have here in New Marais? It's sorta nice." In an unofficial way, Jacob had just asked her to hang out at his place for the night, something he'd only asked a few people before.

I blushed a bright red and smiled at him. " I would like that." I responded, giving his hand a light squeeze. Outside I'm sure I looked calm and composed but inside I was pretty much flipping out. I was actually being invited somewhere! And I wasn't going to be pranked on or made fun of!
