Looks Like There's Another Hero In Town...(Ness)

Matteo Alacran(The Darkness):
"Slice and dice, slice and dice." A gang member growled. He wasn't from any big gang, just some random group of punks who enjoyed... To put it simply, hurting people.
The grinning gang member approached a horrified looking woman, with a look of blood lust in his eyes. He was flanked by two buddies.
"that's where I come in." The Darkness through, as he leapt from his building perch and descended down to the strets below, directly behind the un-suspecting goons.
"You people. Because of scum like you, I have to waste my time patrolling these streets, protecting these people when instead, I could be helping prevent all of Empire getting infected by Black Tears." He growled, getting ready for a fight.
"Sh*t, it's The Darkness." One of his wingmen began backing up slowly with a look of horror in his eye.
"Shut up Tony. He's just some freak in a costume. You two, take him out. I gotta get back to slicing and dicing."
The two thugs began pulling out pistols, but they were far to slow.
The darkness was on them in a second.
He slammed his heavy boot into the first goon's head, knocking him unconscious and dislocating his jaw.
He turned to the second one, who now had a gun on The Darkness.
The darkness narrowed his eyes, and in one swift movement, reached out, and snapped three bones in the criminals arm, and followed it up with a powerful punch for the K.O.
"You made a mistake, spud." The one with the switch blade laughed, or, Slice-And-Dice as The Darkness mentally dubbed him.
"Backup would just LOVE to have a piece of you."
The Darkness heard a loud chorus of laughs, and turned to see an assortment of thugs, at least one hundred men, armed with bats, pipes, brass knuckles, batons and the occasional pistol or hunting rifle.
The Darkness was no fool, he knew he couldn't take them all. He either needed a brilliant plan, some kind of heavy ordnance, or backup. Another Hero.

Julia was running along, but stopped. It was amazing and weird at the same time. Like 100 gang members were just surrounding this one guy. Maybe she should do something. This is my chance! Julia slipped her pistol out from under her shirt. Where it was she would never divulge. She grinned slightly as she stayed a good distance from the crowd and took aim. She fired rapidly, never aiming to kill. She just shot for the knees and shoulder-blades and such.

Matteo Alacran(The Darkness):
The Darkness, with a single round house kick, knocked out Slice-And-Dice, and picked up his switch blade. He turned to face the massive armada of goons, and heard gun shots. But no bullets were flying in his direction. A wave of confusion was sweeping through the crowd. Now was his chance.
He chucked the switchblade at the closest one, and the blade embedded itself in a thugs leg. He howled in pain and dropped.
The Darkness pulled what looked like a wide steel stick from his belt, and pressed a button on it.
In seconds, it elongated into a steel fighting staff, and he charged into the crowd.
He swung it around masterfully, taking out thugs line by line.

Julia continued shooting, trying to help as best as she could. She aimed only for the knees now, as aiming for the shoulder blades could end up hitting someone in the neck. She shot people that were on the edge of the mob, and as it got smaller, the wave after them.

Matteo Alacran(The Darkness):
The Darkness swung his staff around, plowing down thug after thug.
He wondered why they would bother sending a horde this large to stop him. He had already solo eliminated enough of them so that this was probably a good three fourths of their remaining population.
They had to have some kind of catch, something big to take him down.
""Alright, I've had enough of this sh*t." One goon shouted. "Bring out Benny Da Beast!"
A great howling sound was heard, and the cracking of concrete.
The Darkness looked to where the sound was coming from. There were only ten gang members left, but the beast thing would be a problem.
It was large, six feet tall. It had very large, sharp fangs and claws. It appeared to be very strong it's muscles rippled under it's fur coat.
The Darkness feel back to where the girl that was shooting was.
She looked vaguely familiar, but at that moment The Darkness didn't care.
He put away his staff, and pulled out his two sig sacuer pistols, and opened up on the beast, but it just took the bullets and kept coming.
"Dammit..."

Julia looked at the huge animal...guy...thing. "Whoa." But she shook herself out of it. Obviously a pistol wasn't gonna do anything to this guy. She put her pistol away once more in her shirt then looked to the side. One of the goons had dropped a rifle. Bingo. Julia grinned and snatched it up. Only about 10 shots left.. "Let's make it count." She aimed toward the beast's legs and shot repeatedly, trying to knock at least one leg out.

Matteo Alacran(The Darkness):
The massive beast whimpered from being shot, now was his chance. He concentrated his fire on one of the monster-amn's eyes.
The Creature howled in pain, and then stared the Darkness down.
"Uh-o.." The Darkness was charged by the beast. He was caught by the monster's might paws, pinned to the ground.
It raised one paw, ready for the killing strike.
If someone didn't save him now, he was doomed.

Julia whistled loudly. "Yo furry! Check this out!" She shot the beast in the damaged eye, hoping to pull its attention onto her.

Matteo Alacran(The Darkness):
The beast snarled, and began charging the girl, getting off The Darkness's chest.
As the beast sprinted at her, The Darkness shouted,
"NO YOU DON'T!" And leapt onto the monster's back, with his two hunting knives in hand. He stabbed one deep into the creature's back, giving him a good holding point.
He brought the other knife into the monster's skull, and it howled in pain, but then dropped for good. He removed his knives and leapt down from the beast's body, and walked clamly over to the girl.
"Thank you." he stated simply,but he also said "But what were you thinking being out here? No armor, no nothing. Why?"

"I saw a chance to be a hero. And so I took it." She smiled. "Had I been gutted, run through, or even beaten to death, it'd be my fault not yours. So why worry?" Julia pulled her hood down. "My name's Julia." She took notice of his costume. "And if I recall your name...you're the Darkness, correct?" She tilted her head to the side slightly.

Matteo Alacran(The Darkness):
"I am." The Darkness responded, sizing her up.
She had obvious skill with fire arms, and had tons of bravery. Her rather small body type could be very good at parkour, and acrobatics. Maybe...Just maybe...
"Listen.." The Darkness said, "Would you be interested in being my...Partner? Sidekick? That type of thing?" The reasons he asked were because he needed help cleaning up the streets, and to his Batman he figured a Robin wouldn't be a bad addition.

Julia smiled. "That sounds great." She stayed calm as possible on the outside, however, on the inside she was nearly exploding. Finally, she got the chance to be a heroine. And it's all happened because of the man who inspired her to become a hero.

Matteo Alacran(The Darkness):
"Good." The Darkness nodded.
Matt turned his hand over, and pressed a button on his glove.
The revving of a motorcycle was heard, and in seconds, The Shade Cycle rode up to them.The darkness took a seat on it, and gestured for the girl to join him.
"So, two things. I'm sure you heard of The Spartans, first of all. So, I'm going to give you Junior Membership. You get access to the base and stuff, but some things are off limits. Secondly, you have no powers. You'll need an alias, it's the only thing that will protect someone from coming from you while you're not in costume. So, how does uh..." He thought back the the list of names he had thought up when first becoming The Darkness. "How does Stygian sound?"

Julia sat down as well. She nodded, paying attention to everything she was told. "Stygian sounds perfect." She had taken the goon's rifle with her. She'd grown slightly attached to it.

Matteo Alacran(The Darkness):
The darkness kept silent, and simply drove.
Ordinarily, he wouldn't have needed or wanted a sidekick. But now he needed one. He was needed at the doom situation, and at the city situation.
They arrived at The Spartans base.
"Go poke around. Just don't touch anything. I'm going to bring up the files I need for your suit."

"Alright." She nodded and looked around inside, doing her best not to touch anything. Julia pulled her hood back up over her head, since she was in an unknown area.
