Lucas entered the old Radio Shack that he had used to call home, only to find cobwebs hanging everywhere. The floor beneath his feet creaked as he walked, and he slowed his pace. He had entered this building a dozen times, but this time it felt different. He had abandoned this home for the Spartan's base. The base was beautiful, for being located underground with all the stale air. Cregnix had even been thoughtful enough to produce an area with fresh air for Lucas. Finding his way to the back of the store in the gray light, he found a switch and flicked it, a couple lights coming on. Lucas frowned as the lights flickered. He flinched, hearing a creak from the floor above him. Turning towards the stairs, he hovered over to investigate it quietly.

AMAZO:

The AMAZO unit looked down the stairs. Conduit. Lucas Rice. Designation: Spartan. Command had put out a kill warrant on all Spartans, barring Jason Cregnix.
"Accessing- Haruka Elfen." The AMAZO drone suddenly gained invisible vectors. It dashed out and attempted to wrap the conduit in it's new vectors.

Julia walked along through the area, not dressed for work, with a large duffel bag strapped onto her back. She carried it along comfortably, looking back and forth. She spotted an old Radio Shack and her curiosity was slightly peaked. She creaked open the door and poked her head in, looking around. She entered the building, approaching the stairs while unzipping the bag on her back from the bottom, pulling out a crossbow. Of course, it wasn't the entirety of the bag. When he reached the stairs, first thing she saw was two people, one seemingly getting lifted up at nothing. Deeming the person at the top of the stairs as the cause of the disturbance, she pointed the crossbow at him/her/it.

Lucas figured that this was the feeling of getting choked by the force as invisible arms wrapped around him, squeezing his body tightly. Lucas gasped in a shaky breath, only to blow it out at his attacker, causing a large gust of wind to shoot towards a strange humanoid like thing that he come down the stairs.

AMAZO was knocked back with a powerful force, but kept it's vectors wrapped tightly around the wind conduit. It was pushed harshly up the stairs, but regained it's balance. A second threat was identified. Human. Weapon designation: Crossbow. AMAZO unwrapped on vector from the wind conduit, and had it shoot out to retrieve the crossbow.

Julia caught sight of the near invisible arm and rolled out of the way. She pulled the trigger of her crossbow, launching the explosive bolt at the humanoid being, hoping that she would get off some damage. She fumbled through her pocket for another explosive round. She was cursing her disorganization.

Just as Lucas thought that he wasn't going to be able to break free from the invisible grip, he was released. Gasping in a breath of air (which was quite easy for a wind conduit), Lucas turned to see a fellow Spartan fighting. He knew this girl, but couldn't quite remember the name. Jillian? No, but it was something like that. Watching her, he was able to pick up the faint outline of the force that grabbed him. An invisible arm-like thing that stemmed out of what could only be described as an android. As Jillian, or whatever her name was, fumbled around for another bolt, the android seemed to be preparing to attack again. Lucas pulled in all the air that he could from the open door on the steps which led to the roof, trying to hit the android from behind.

AMAZO:

There was potential that the AMAZO android would have been destroyed by contact with the explosive bolt, had it not been for the vectors. It's armor was damaged, and it was in a bad state of repair. As it was pushed by Lucas Rice, it said, " Accessing: Ulysses Graham" Amazo stood up, and as it began regenerating, it sprinted for Julia.

Julia's fingers wrapped around a familiar shape in her pocket and she pulled it out quickly, revealing it to be another explosive bolt which she pulled out and quickly loaded into the crossbow once more. She pointed it directly at AMAZO's head and let the trigger release the ammo for the second time, this time hoping to do much more damage.

Lucas watched as the hulking figure took an explosive bolt to the...mid-air? The bolt exploded right in front of the robot-like guy and should have killed him. Instead, the thing mumbled a few words, got rocked a bit by the wind coming in from the open door, and began to heal incredibly quickly as he charged at Jill. He saw that the other Spartan had had just enough time to grab a bolt and shoot at the android.

AMAZO:

The AMAZO unit ducked. It would not be hit by the same bow again. As it hulked over Julia, it said- "Accessing- Brutus O'Mailey((NPC- See Casino Royale thread.))" Now fully healed, the AMAZO unit's strength increased dramatically.
It reached out smack the crossbow from the human's hands and to being choking her.

Julia was choked forcefully by the AMAZO robot, making her create all types of unsavory and likely painful noises. She gripped the side of his hands with hers and tried to pry him off of her. This was not the way that she wanted to die. Not inside an old Radio Shack.

Something stirred inside of Lucas as he heard Joanne struggling and gasping for air. With a slight growl he levitated into the air and then shot forward towards the android, attempting to tackle the thing off of Julie. As he moved he began to yell, "Get your hands off my teammate!"

AMAZO:

AMAZO analyzed the situation. It held one contact in it's hands. Threat null and void, given that it was choking. The wind conduit would prove to be a problem. However, this wind conduit appeared to care for the one it was strangling. Perhaps if the stranglee was neutralized, the AMAZO unit would properly be able to neutralize the wind conduit. It tightened it's grip, as it was knocked back by a powerful force, however still keeping a hand on the humans neck. It struggled to it's feet, and searched for a way to kill the wind conduit without releasing the human.

Julia, by this point, was almost blue. She squeaked unsavorily as she had her entire windpipe area basically man-handled by the robot. After some kind of odd sensation in her throat, noises completely stopped coming from Julia's mouth. They just stopped. She struggled against the grip of AMAZO for a few more seconds before passing out almost completely.

Lucas was about as pissed as Julia was out cold now. He didn't care if he knew the girl's name anymore, he just knew that if he didn't step in that this...robot guy would kill her. For the second time in the past few weeks, Lucas entered a different state of mind, letting his powers take control and using his anger to fuel the fires. The wind whipped around him even faster than usual, rushing in from every opening in the Radio Shack. The ceiling shook, some of the old boards breaking loose and causing others to fall as parts of the ceiling caved in. Lucas took all of this new air, formed a condensed sphere of it, and shot it at the robot. The ball, being rather large, drained Lucas of most of his strength, and he fell to his knees after shooting off the large ball of air, gasping for air and sweating.

AMAZO:

AMAZO felt his grip on the girl loosen, as it was assaulted from all directions by a variety of directions. It was flung backwards, and smashed through two creates before landing with a heavy thud. Internal alarms blared. It was highly damaged. However, it's current prime directive was to neutralize Lucas Rice, who appeared very weakened. AMAZO wrenched itself up, and sprinted and Lucas, preparing a kick that would shatter any normal human's bones.

Julia fell limply on the ground, her breath uneven. She remained in dreamless darkness, against the dusty floor of the Radio Shack. It was near impossible to tell she was breathing. The only sign would be her barely moving diaphragm.

Lucas didn't have time to brace for the impact of the kick, and was sent flying across the room, slamming into a few crates. The only thing that helped the impact was a small amount of wind he was able to use to cushion the blow, but it wasn't much. He felt something crack immediately in his ribs and left arm, and trying to move them caused Lucas to flinch in pain. With his right arm, he pressed the button on his communicator that was designed for calling in backup, wishing he had done it a lot earlier.

The Darkness:
The Darkness sped for the Radio Shack, tiny in the distance. He had started coming when Julia's life signs took a dip, but when Rice's communicator started beeping off for help, he knew something serious was going down.
The Shade Cycle burst in through the thin wall of the radio shack, to reveal a robot, a KO'ed Julia, and a beaten up Lucas Rice and an android.

AMAZO:

AMAZO was moving in on Rice, about to get the finishing blow, when something black, fast, and very powerful. It was a motorcycle.
As it fought to get the motorcycle off, given that if was deep into AMAZO'S mid section, it anylyzed the newcomer. A mere man, identity unknown. Designation The Darkness.

Julia continued to be passed out as the Darkness rammed in and attacked. It was at least known she was okay, because her state had changed to a state of sleep rather than nonconsciousness. She didn't snore, however. Just sprawled out on the dusty floor of the Radio Shack, her hair all over the place and the bag on her back dropped next to her. A tiny stream of blood flowed from the corner of her mouth and onto the floor.

Lucas was about as helpless as Julia (He finally had remembered her name), but he was quite conscious to see what was going down. He could feel something broken inside him, most notably in his left arm and ribs, but it was going to take a lot more than a few broken bones to knock him out of the fight. Using his good arm, he grabbed his boomerang and flung it at the android, grimacing in pain as the movement hurt his sides. The wind took the boomerang on auto-pilot, slicing it straight towards the android's head.

AMAZO:
AMAZO's head barely missed the boomerang as it whizzed by it's head.
He pulled the cycle out, and realized it was fighting a losing battle.
An order game in "RETREAT".
Following it's orders, without pausing to heal or change powers, it sprinted out of the Warehouse, damaged mid-section and all.

The Darkness:
Normally, The Darkness would have followed AMAZO, but he had to wounded team mates to care for. He pressed a button on his glove, and knew the Darkwing was coming.
Quickly evaluating his team mates, Lucas was far more damaged, and needed to be air-lifted out. he walked over to Lucas, and pulled out some biofoam.
"This is gonna sting." he warned, and he plunged the needle into Lucas's skin.
As the Darkwing came, he offered a hand to Lucas to help pull him up, and get him to the plane, he would get to Julia in a moment.
