Powers: Artificial arms and torso, plated with an extremely durable alloy resistant to most bullets. Skeletal system has been replaced with titanium alloys to support immense pressure. Maximum lifting strength: 27,000 lb.

Right palm is able to erect a kinetic shield able to deflect and resist any weapon or attack short of a Megawatt Hammer or armour-piercing bullet. Left wrist can split to fire its hand on a 60-foot-long cable with little striking power.

History (Five sentences minimum, but the more the better!): Raiden lead a prosaically common life. During adolescence, he appeared to be one of those jocks on the football team, and mostly was, but he clandestinely held up consistent straight A’s.

After he graduated college a few months before the Blast, McBain joined the Empire City Police Department. Almost incogitably, Raiden was abducted by the First Sons during his second week in service.

The postliminary months were torturous as the First Son scientists and surgeons slowly replaced Raiden’s mortal body with soulless machinery. His abdominal skin, his, lungs, his entire right arm, every bone; by the time “upgrades” were finished, probably half of his body was now mechanical. A spinal interface controlled his hydraulic muscles. Carbon tubing replaced many parts of his arteries and veins.

Months passed until a massive explosion, a miracle, destroyed a third of the research facility where Raiden was being held. As most of security mobilized in that vulnerable area, the few personnel remaining his quadrant proved too few to prevent a prison riot.

Finally free, Raiden expected to live the rest of his life on the run from the First Sons.

Nine months passed, and there came a day unlike any other when Earth’s mightiest heroes found themselves united against a common threat. On that day, they became the Spartans.

Over the course of five further months, Raiden felt he just couldn’t contribute enough to the team. His single bionic arm, far outmatched by even one of a strength conduit’s arms, felt maddening unhelpful next to, say, manipulation of the air or an unattainable IQ. He was a fine marksman, but not enough to be special. He was mildly proficient at unarmed combat, but was nothing to beam at outside of knocking people down with a right-handed punch. Knowing he would not be able to feel with any arm again, Rai underwent further surgery to enhance his performance with another bionic arm, as well as a less frightening upgrade to his hydraulic biceps, triceps, atc.

Personality: Raiden is a fun-loving kind of guy. He sometimes makes wisecracks, puns, or just flat whacky jokes to people he doesn’t like, especially during curbstomp fights. He occasionally shows a bit of above-average intelligence one just wouldn’t expect from him. Also, Rai is perfectly capable of carrying a serious conversation when the time comes, which does happen when he reports on reconnaissance missions. Considering he is a local crime-fighter, vigilante or not, the immediate thought is that he puts innocent civilian lives above his own in importance. That thought is true. Raiden also has an explicable fascination with button-mashing.
