Jason Cregnix:

It was a calm morning, the day of the funeral. It had been a week since Thomas died, at the hands of his own ex-girlfriend too. There was no wind, the sun was not too bright, and the birds weren't chirping. It was like nature could sense how solemn the mood was.
They were burying it in the center of a park, near Spartan Tower(formerly known as the Starling Hotel). The park, unnamed before, had been bought by Cregnix and subsequently named Ellis park.
Thomas was to be placed in the center of the park, his casket was just next to the open hole of his grave. Cregnix peered inside the tiny casket. It had been difficult to recover a respectable portion of Thomas's body, after that had been done to it... Still, the corpse was terrifying. It was ripped to shreds and had numerous holes, there was so much blood on it... Cregnix, instead of terrifying anyone who would like to look upon their lost friend, had recreated Thomas's image with a hologram projector inside the casket. The projector was fueled by twin miniature ark reactors, enough power to keep the hologram there for one hundred lifetimes. The hologram Thomas was projected over the real thing, and it wore a suit, with its arms folded in a dignified manner.
Jason whispered a prayer to a god he didn't believe in, but that Thomas probably did. He turned to look back on the arrivals. there weren't many. Then again, it was still a few minutes before the invitations had instructed everyone to show up. The Darkness was there, he had even put on a suit. Granted he still wore his mask, to hide his identity. The Lich and Wanderer were there as well, though they never got to know him well, they valued the short time they had with their team mate. A handful of civilians were there, mostly people who Thomas had saved at some point, either directly or indirectly.
Cregnix waited for more people to show up before he would begin his eulogy of Thomas.

Ari and War both showed up together. Wars two small children were dressed in black like their mother, but Ari wore blue. A dark blue, but definetly not the color of mourning. They both walked over, Pan and Juliette toddling along beside their mother.
Ari went to Cregnix. "Jason," She murmured, kissing his cheek. "Did you manage to salvage the body?"

((Note, all characters except Ophelia who's in New Marais and has no clue, and Teddy Riggs, who just doesn't give a shit, are here. I'll post details as they are needed.))

Ash shook his head. "No. I was one of the guys who managed to find the body. There... There was practically nothing. She ripped him apart... I suggested a closed casket, but Jason did his thing, and Thomas... Wel, that's not technically him, but... Damn... You did a good job."

Jason Cregnix:

Jason silently nodded. The body was... Horrifying to look at.
"If everyone would please take their seats." Jason said quietly, gesturing out to the plastic chairs that were set in neat rows across the park. The turnout was rather disappointing... But what could you do?
Jason stepped up to the podium and took a deep breath.
"Friends, we are gathered here today to say goodbye to our honored friend and teammate, Thomas Ellis." Jason said, as he talked he wistfully looked into the eyes of each Spartans member. "Thomas led a sad life, to say the least. His old girlfriend became queen of the tears, and his newer one killed him. But that's not how we will remember him. Thomas was a good man, he was hero. I was honored to serve by his side. Though I may lead The Spartans, he led us in spirit. He led us in hope. He's as good a leader as I could've asked for. He helped us secure victory against the tears, and in countless other battles. He was a good friend, there when you needed him most, even though it was that same quality that caused him to fall to Sena, in the end. He was never the most violent, but he was zealous in his interpretation of justice, and would always do what he believed was right. This has been a short eulogy, but I believe good men like him do not need someone else to embellish them, they speak loud enough with their actions and words. Before I let someone else take over, or allow people to say their goodbyes, I'd like to show something." Cregnix stepped off the podium, and went to just behind Thomas's grave stone, where something large, covered by a red sheet stood.
Cregnix tugged off the sheet, revealing a statue. It was a stark stone statue, with gold paint and dusting giving it a certain luster. It was a larger than life version of Thomas, with his arms on his hips in a heroic fashion, and a guitar slung over his shoulder, with a look on his face like he could take on the world.
Cregnix then stepped back to the podium, but instead if speaking more, pulled a long black case out from underneath it. He clicked the case open, and pulled something out- Thomas's guitar. It wasn't the real thing, Sena still had it, somewhere, somehow. It was a 100% accurate reproduction of it. He quietly placed it in Thomas's casket beside the body, and stepped up the podium once more.
"Thomas will not be listed as dead. He will be listed as Missing In Action. Spartans never die."
With that, he took his place next to Ari, and waited for others to step up and say their goodbyes.

War walked up to the casket and laid her flowers down onto it. She smiled at the casket, remembering threatening to shoot him several times in the past. To her this farewell wasn't tragic, just bittersweet. She shook her head.

"Told you so, you sordid bastard." She chuckled and took out something that Thomas loved from her coat. A case of rootbeer in glass bottles. She set it inside the casket rather than on top, with the flowers. She took a step back. Pan looked inside the casket and Juliette merely stared at the rooftops, at something no one was noticing.

"Was he a hero, mom?" Pan asked, looking at her.
"No," War sighed softly before crouching down next to him. "He was like you and me. He was just a kid in love."

"Mom..." Juliette tugged on Wars dress and she looked at her. Juliette pointed to the top of the casket. An ice flower slowly formed there, with black petals. It rested atop the casket, prettier and more eye catching than the others. War looked around the rooftops, but there was no one to be seen.
With a grimace... she walked away from the funeral. She didn't belong here, grieving. She had other things to do.

Cregnix watched silently as War walked away. He sighed, their member count was dwindling. Suddenly, every Spartans communicator would bleep. One of the Young Spartans. Something was happening. He looked up, ready to jump up and go, only to see The Darkness holding up his hand.
"I'll go." The Darkness said, quickly leaving, jumping over the parks fence and ripping off his suit as he ran, revealing his costume underneath. There was certainly something slightly off about that man, it was wonderful, weird, and terrifying all at the same time...
