Joey sat on the edge of a beautiful rooftop garden. The aroma of all the flawers, the great green plants that grew. It was a masterpiece and he was happy he could enjoy it as himself and not Sparrow. He had only a revolver on him but he was too relaxed to be ready if anything came up. This garden was like an oasis in the hellhole that was Empire city. When he found who was responsible for this he would thank them right away. He hear someone walking around and got up and searched through the plants to find who it was. It was a peaceful place. 'I hope I don't scare her' He thought as he approached her from behind. "Hey, is this yours?" He asked smiling.

Leaning against what was left of the white picket fence that once used to surround my garden. I'd just finished my usual rounds, making sure all the plants had the necessary amount of water and sunlight. Sure it took a while but it was completely worth it. Blade, my trusty ferret sidekick sat on my shoulder nibbling on a slice of apple I had given him earlier. I froze hearing someone come up behind me, and slowly turned around, my eyes wide. I lightly nodded my head in response to the stranger, trying to avoid sounding awkward like I usually did.

"It's a beautiful garden, it's a nice addition to this city. Thank you for growing it, those conduits must be jealous that they can't do stuff like this, huh." He said with a sly grin. She looked like a human, so he assumed she was. He wouldn't hurt her even if she was, her powers would be for good, not evil.

I chuckled lightly and smiled. " Um...You're welcome. I haven't actually met many conduits. I tend to stay up here..." I answered, rubbing my arm a bit nervously. I was never good with people. And now some random guy was making conversation with me. Blade stopped nibbling on his apple and looked up intently at the guy, cocking his head to the side.

I looked at the ferret, he was pretty cute. "Is this your little helper? He's so cute." He said in that baby voice people talk to animals in. He noticed this and replied in a deeper than usual voice "I mean. It's a cute ferret." He felt like he has redeemed himself. He started playing with a leaf hanging off a plant like he was a little kid. He saw she was rubbing her arms. "Are you cold?"

I chuckled as Blade jumped into my arms, slightly alarmed by the voice change. He was sensitive to stuff like that. I chuckled again noticing him playing with the leaf and took a step closer to him. " He is not the only cute thing here." I mused, lightly poking him on the cheek. I blushed after hearing his question. " Oh, no. I am sufficiently warm." I answered, smiling slightly.

Joey let out a little laugh when she touched him. This chick was pretty cute too. He loved her blue hair, the weirdest part was that it looked natural! "That makes three of us." He said quietly and shyly. He wasn't the best when it came to girls. He avoided eye contact for a couple seconds but looked back up. and smiled, but remained awkwardly quiet. He just kinda zoned out. He snapped back about 20 seconds later. "Do you want, maybe, go out for some soda? I know this one bar, it's full of weirdos though. I hope you don't mind though." He let out a sigh. He just said a full sentence, without mistakes, in front if a cute girl. This was a big accomplishment, but when he left the bar earlier today he saw some weird things and was hugged by a drunk. He got out pretty fast last time, hopefully it would be different this time.

I blushed a bright red and looked down, hoping that he didn't see it. I had never gotten many compliments and I appreciated his but I didn't wanna look weak. That would just be demeaning. I raised an eyebrow at the mention of the bar. Weirdos? I decided not to ask. I didn't really wanna know. " I would like that. I have only tried soda once or twice but I'm sure I would enjoy the experience." I said, grinning slightly.

"I can't wait." Joey couldn't wait for the date, he just really hoped those weirdos weren't there too mess things up. "Wait, you've only had soda a couple of times? That's crazy! I used to have like, one a day! You're gonna love it so much, just trust me." He had grabbed her hands in his speech without thinking.

I chuckled lightly and blushed. " Well my dad was really crazy about plants and being healthy and green so he never drank much and neither did I." I responded, shrugging slightly. I wouldn't admit it, but I missed my dad. I blushed a bright red when he grabbed my hand, but I didn't move away. Huh. The other life form had engaged in physical contact. Interesting.
