Budding Relationship (Megz)

I chuckled a bit and shook my head. " Not really. I respect the animals struggle for life but I rather not see it." I responded, shrugging slightly. I really was a big tree huger and animal lover. I would've joined PETA if father had let me and had even turned into a vegetarian in the process. " You should come to my garden some day. I'm sure Blade would love to meet you." I said, smiling warmly at Jacob.

"Blade? Who's that?" Jacob asked eagerly. He was interested in maybe seeing Cory's garden someday. He was sure that the garden would be really cool.

" Oh right. Blade is my ferret. He's feisty and has pointy canine teeth so I thought Blade would be a good name. He doesn't really like new people but I'm sure he'll warm up to you." I said with a dreamy smile on my face. OK, so maybe Blade had bitten the last three people to come to the garden but its not like they died.

"Nice! Sounds like he's cute...I'm a sucker for that kind of stuff. Anyways, where is your garden, I've never seen a garden around here." Jacob said. He didn't want to sound like some creepy old pervert, he was just curious.

I chuckled and nodded my head at his comment about Blade. He was...well, when he wanted to be. " My gardens in the Warren on the top of this medium redbrick building. I used to live in one of the apartments below but it got wrecked after the blast so I made do in my little cabin." I responded, smiling whimsically.

"The Warren...not quite the ideal place for a garden in my opinion, but you are the expert. Besides, I'm sure you can make anything grow anywhere!" Jacob said. He thought that Cory's garden was in New Marais, not Empire City.

" It's high up in a roof and its secluded enough." I responded, shrugging slightly. I hadn't ever thought about the location of my garden. Just how everything was growing or when I needed to go out for supplies and set the traps.

"Cool, when I'm back in Empire I'll have to stop by and check it out...if you're okay with that." Jacob paused for a few seconds, "Do you have a place to stay near here, I'd feel really uncomfortable with you just walking home at this time of night. I'd be happy to let you stay here."

" Come by any time. I make a mean carrot cake." I responded, grinning brightly. It was the one sweet treat that didn't blow up in my face.I blushed fter hearing his offer. I'd never stayed at anyone else's place before. " Um..well, are you sure? I don't want to be a bother." I responded, nervously playing with my fingers.

"I don't mind as long as you make some carrot cake!" Jacob said, winking at Cory. He was joking about the cake, "For some reason this house has a guest room, so you can use that if you want" he said smiling.
