Memory Lane

Eleanor had never been one to respect privacy, she was a journalist after all. And now, as she awkwardly swung upside down from the fire escape of a building she was peering into, privacy was the last thing on her mind. She had heard rumors that there was cocaine being stashed in this warehouse and she had hoped to discover it. All she had seen was some prostitues and an arms exchange or two but not much else. When she heard someone coming down the street she slipped back onto the fire escape stairs, trying to be as quiet as possible.

Eleanor had hidden underneath the stairs and had luckily gone unnoticed; but that boy certainly hadn't. The second she saw his green eyes her face lit up. He must have such an amazing story. As she reached for her camera that was strapped around her neck she heard some shouting coming from inside the building. It was only now that she realized she was visible through one of the windows. A couple of thugs were inside yelling and pointing their guns at her. Well, it certainly wasn't like this was new to her. Eleanor flashed a picture of them before quickly making her way down the fire escape, not caring if she was being noisy this time around.

Eleanor, seeing an oportunity to get away, had almost forgotten about the guy with the green eyes. The armed men had started making their way down the fire escape and their yelling had gotten angrier. Luckily her hoodie was up and she was spared the ginger curses. Eleanor grabbed the man, currently dubbed Mr.Green in her mind ,and  started lightly pulling him by the arm away from the building. She really couldn't let such a scoop get away.

Eleanor just followed along with what Mr.Green was doing, throwing a glance behind her before entering the warehouse. She heard the men but she didn't see them so that had to be a good sign. She turned calmly to Mr.Green eyes and quietly inspected him, taking not of his black hair and regular clothing. But what currently interested her most was his eyes. It was best to start asking questions now before the thugs showed up. She lowered her hoodie and pulled a pen out of her red hair and a notepad out of her back pocket. " Names Eleanor. I am currently more interested in you though. What's your name?"she responded, circling him and taking notes on his appearance into her notepad.

Eleanor finally stopped her vulture like circling after he was done answering. She scribbled even more notes about him after she stopped. He was certainly a very interesting catch. " Do they call you Eyes because of your eyes or is it some different reason? " she asked, ignoring his question. Moments later though there was a pounding on the door to the warehouse and familiar yelling. Eleanor sighed and started pulling Eyes toward the stairs of the warehouse that led to the second floor. She needed a calmer environment to work with.

"Ey! You two get down here!" one of the thugs yelled at Sleanor and Eyes as the other two thugs followed after them on foot. All three were clad in black and armed with dessert eagles. Eleanor picked up her pace, almost running up the flight of stairs to the third floor. She grabbed Eyes hand instead of his arm this time around though. She certainly didn't want to fight those idiots because she lost Eyes and had to save her newest scoop. She only had so much juice left in her tazer. " Can you do anything other than see with those eyes of yours?" she asked, continuing to scribble things down on the notepad as she went up the stairs.

Eleanor continued to scribble in her notebook as she was ushered into the room. And once again she ignored his question. It was only when she realized she had gotten a bit tired that she took a good assessment of the situation and lowered her notepad. Fresh Thugs trying to kill her, new scoop who was co-operating, and no way out of the room minus a tiny looking window. She took a seat on the floor, and pulled out her camera. " Could you expand on that statement?" she asked, cleaning the camera lens with a special little cloth.

Eleanor put the little cloth away and set the camera to the side, going back to taking notes as he spoke. She snapped a picture of Eyes once he finished talking. It was hard to mask the smirk that had formed on her lips. Conduits were always interesting to analyze. "I do. Now, what do your abilities allow you to do? Try and be descriptive, you look old enough to know what an adverb is." She quipped in response, snapping another picture but this time with flash. The lighting in this room was kind of bad but she had worked with worse. She could hear the yelling of the men outside but she ignored it. They weren't exactly a pressing worry of hers since this happened practically every other day.

Eleanor was quickly taking note of his response, adding little notes of her own as well. His power didn't seem like it was any good for close combat but it did sound like an excellent tool for an interigator. Eleanor had to stop herself from rolling her eyes when he mentioned it being a curse. She had heard that line so often it was starting to get annoying. The door had been creacking and pounded on for a bit and she could tell it was going to give way soon. She put her camera away as the thugs filed in. She didn't want it getting dirty. One of them pointed his gun at her head and the audible sigh coming from her lips seemed to piss them off even more.

Eleanor glanced over at Eyes, itching to write down more notes on him after his little bluff. It was better that she didn't though, the men looked like they would shoot her given any excuse. The older of the three stepped forward a bit and pointed his gun at Eyes head. " We just want to know what the bitch was doin up on the fire escape is all. " He replied, his tone leaning toward a much more violent outcome than his words did. Eleanor sized up the thugs, taking note of how the one pointing his gun directly at her was the youngest and looked angrier at her than the others. She also noted how the third thug kept looking back and forth between her and Eyes nervously. This could certainly go down either way. " I was looking for inspiration for my writing. " she replied curtly, sitting up a bit straighter. The youngest thug put his gun closer to her temple.

The lead thug wasn't buying it and neither did his subordanits. Eleanor had to hold back an interjection when he called her his girlfriend. But she kept her mouth shut and played along. Sweet talking might just work.  " Me and my dearest  boyfriends have a reservation for a restaurant soon and I promise not to do it again so if you could just let us go..." she said, slowly stading up and tucking her notepad in her front pocket. The young thug kept his gun trained on her temple the whole time. " Shut up and hand over the Camera Whore. " the youngest thug barked cocking his gun. Eleanor frowned, like hell she was going to hand over her Camera. " And if I refuse?" she asked, glaring at the thugs. " Then your boyfriend here gets a new airhole for his cranium. " the older thug growled, almost as if on queue.

Eleanor continued to glare at the thugs, starting to get more and more upset. She wasn't giving hp her camera and she certainly didn't want to loose such an interesting person. "Hand over the camera ya slut!" growled the youngest thug, jabbing out a hand to take the camera. Eleanor looked over to Eyes and then to the oldest thug. He cocked his gun and glared at her as a warning. The third thug just stoodin front  of the door looking uncomfortable. Since the sweet talking had failed, it was time to resort to outrages lies. " Look, I can't give you the Camera. " she said, trying her best to look at least a little scared. " Why not?" the youngest asked with a sneer. "Because my boyfriend here is going to snap if I do. And if that happens no one is going to walk out of this room alive. You all must know about the conduits. My babe is one. If he even looks at you after he snaps, thats it, your dead. " she answered, keeping her voice convincing with just the slightest hint of fear. The young thug looked even angrier but the other two started looking worried.
