The third thug looked ready to bolt after Eyes was done talking. The older thug backed up a bit, lowerjng his gun in the process. The youngest one lowered his gun but kept glaring fiercly at both of them. Eleanor had to once again supress a smirk;this was rich. She quickly scooted over to Eyes, keeping her hands behind her back as she quietly serched for her tazer. Seeing that his comrades were nervous the youngest thugs anger trippled. " He's bluffing! Can't ya idiots see that?! Dont tell me I have to take matters into my own hands." The youngest thug barked once again pointing his gun directly at Eleanor. He hated being poked by anyone especially some lying bigshot.

Though Simon's powers were useless in combat, he could certainly use the memories he had stolen from the guy to help him. When the gun was raised, though, there were no time to mess with the guys head memory-wise. No, steel did far better in a situation like this. Now grabbing his combat knife, he threw it with almost expert accuracy at the youngest thug pointing the gun at Eleanor. The knife hit home and the thug dropped, dead instantly. Simon turned to the two remaining thugs. "I felt like giving his family a body for the funeral, but I won't be see generous with you two. I'll give you a two minute head start." Simon tapped his watch, "I suggest you run."

The young thug fell to the floor with a loud thud that resonated around the room. It took a second for the remaining thugs to process what Eyes had said. As soon as they did though they grabbed his body and got out of that warehouse as fast as they could. No way they were dealing with a conduit, not with what just happened. Eleanor sighed in relief,glad that a gun was no longer being pointed at her. It had scared her just a bit. She took out her camera and snapped another picture of Eyes. " That was bery resourceful of you. How many other people have you killed?" she asked back to her profesional self. It made her seem a bit heartless at times but it was just in her nature.

Simon grinned as the ran away, sighing in relief only after the thugs were long gone. "Thanks, I haven't been called resourceful before." He cursed in his head as he looked around for his knife, "Damn...they took my knife with the body." He then frowned, hearing Eleanor's question. "That would be my second. I don't like doing that, but it was either he died or you died, there was no way around it."

" Well it is nice to hear my life was prioratized for once. " Eleanor replied, managing a tiny smile in gratitude. She still had so many things to write, she didn't have time for dying. She put her camera away and grabbed a blue pen from her hair.Time to get this show on the road again. She looked around the room and shook her head in disdain. This was an awful place for an interview. " Lets go to the roof. The Lighting is probably better and it'd be a much safer location. " she said, heading out of the room with barely a glance over her shoulder at him.

Simon followed, now even more interested than before. This woman just wouldn't stop, would she? It seemed like it would take more than a few thugs to get her to stop taking notes and catching stories. As they climbed to the roof, Simon attempted to make small talk. "Hey, if I'm telling you about myself will you tell me anything about you? It'd be nice to know who I'm telling personal things to."

Eleanor glanced back at Eyes with a confused look but quickly straightened her expresion and continued to the roof, heading up the stairs that led directly to the roof. " Well my name is Eleanor Jude Rigby. I am 18 years old and I plan to be a journalist like my mum and dad." she replied after a bit. She at least owed it to him even though she didn't like moving the attention away from the person she was interviewing. It really slowed down productivity. " So how long have you been in this city?" she asked as she opened the door to the roof. The sun was still high enough in the sky to give a decent amount of light. She took a seat on an air conditioning vent and pulled out her notepad waiting for a reply.

Simon chuckled a bit, "Like the Beatles song? You should get an award for having a name like that." He paused, "Sorry, I'm sure you get that a lot." Reaching the top of the roof, Simon watched as Eleanor took a seat on the vent. "Well, I grew up on the streets here, so I've lived here nearly my whole life. A couple months ago I went to Empire to check out what happened up there. 'Cause of the quarantine up there I was only just able to get back down here."

Eleanor was back to quickly jotting down notes in her notepad, not missing a beat. She was practically born to do this kind of thing what with her slender fingers that were perfect to quickly write things down and her quick wit and friendly apearance didn't hurt either. Her personality was a completly different story though. "What did you think of Empire?" she asked, glaninc up from her notebook for once. She brushed back a lock of red hair that had sprung loose. She had been there herself not long ago but she had left for a break. Too many sad stories there and it was hard getting close enough to conduits up there without being dragged into serious trouble.

Simon frowned a little bit. "The trip to and from was nice, but being there wasn't exactly the most pleasant part of my little 'vacation'. The only people who seem to be alive up there are the one's with powers, weapons, or no morals. Some of the conduits up there formed a Avengers-like thing to help the civilians out, but I think it's too little too late. All the good civilians, the ones with any morals, are most likely dead. Half of the slums is, as they say, 'Drowned' under these black liquids that make people lose their minds. The city is hell, and that area of the slums is the innermost ring. I don't think the government even cares what's going on in there anymore."

Eleanors hands were practically a blur as she took down notes, with only the tiniest glance at him on ocasion as she wrote. She had heard about the tears and had experienced the loose morals of the citizens first hand. What she didn't know much about was the avenger like group. Sure she had heard of it but thee people just showed up, fought and left. Very interesting indeed. Eleanor frowned a bit at the mention of the soldiers. They always messed with her investigations. " Oh they don't. I interviewed a soldier a couple days before I left that place. Now, what else do you know about this little avangers group?" she asked him curtly, looking him over again from head to toe.

Simon nodded, "They call themselves Spartans, but from what I hear these guys are Angels of Death, good, but in a bad way. Almost anti-heroes. The guy who leads 'em is a genius, making things that most engineers won't even understand a thousand years from now. Their core group consists of quite a few people who you don't want to come looking for you if you've pissed 'em off. An FBI agent, a kid who shoots tornadoes out of his hands, and another kid who could level a building by strumming a guitar, and those are some of the weaker ones on their team. They've got everything from Batman-wannabe's to conduits that could maybe take on a small army. If they wanted to, those guys could take over the whole city."

Eleanor took all this down on a seperate page,this time around not looking up. It was all very good information and some of his descriptions matched other profiles she had in there. When she was done writing she put her pen back in her hair and leaned back a bit. Even she needed a little break from time to time. Plus her hands was starting to get sore and she could barely write with it like that. " So what were you doing before the blast occured?" she asked, pulling a bag of chips out of her pocket and opening it. The sun had slowly started to lower in the sky but not as much as to signal night to be any time soon. Eleanor popped a chip into her mouth and hlanced at Eyes. She offered him some, for once remembering some etiquette her grandmother had taught her.

Simon nodded in thanks, taking only one chip and trying to chew it quietly. He looked off into space when he answered, "That was, well, a personal reason." Thinking about why he'd fled to Empire brought back the memories of why he'd left New Marais. "I, uh, had a falling out with the militia down here whenever I got my powers. See, they don't really like conduits down here. We're freaks to them. It doesn't matter what you do in New Marais, if you're a freak then they'll hunt you down until you're dead. There was an organization that was way worse in Empire, though. They called themselves the Templars, or something. I got lucky enough never to run in to 'em."

Eleanor nodded in understanding as she munched on a chip. She knew how the people around here could be and she had had the not so pleasant oportunity to interview a Templar. They scared her to say the least but it had been an interesting scoop. She swallowed what she had in her mouth and sat up a bit. Time to atleast get a bit back on track. This was an interview on him after all. " Do you have any friends or family in either city?" she asked bluntly, making direct eye contact for once. She really needed to apear more friendly. If he closed up on her now she would miss out on some good information.

Simon frowned, startled by the eye contact. "Is this on or off the record?" He asked, looking back into her eyes. Friends? He didn't have many friends anymore, and his family had virtually abandoned him the first chance they got. No, Simon didn't have "friends" he just had acquaintances. People he knew, but didn't really know at the same time.

Eleanor kept staring into his eyes, a blank expresion on her face. It didn't seem to be working as a way to seem more friendly but he was talking and that was good. " Off if you would prefer it. " she replied, leaning back once again but keeping eye contact. She wasn't sure if the over use of eye contact made the situation kind of awkward but it didn't matter mich st the moment. His eyes were pretty cool, all green and glowy. She hoped to be able to draw them at some point, maybe take a close up picture with a high resolution camera.

"Let's keep this off the record, but I don't have a whole load of close friends. Most of them end up getting in situations like the one we were just in, say 'screw this', and then stay away from me. I bring along trouble, so maybe that's the smartest idea. It's though to be a good friend when you almost get killed every time you hang out with someone."

Eleanor could almost empathize with him. Almost. She popped another chip into her mouth and chewed thoughtfully. " Well I don't think you're that bad. You did risk your life for me. " she murmured, glancing at the distance and all the building that filled the area. She didn't spend much time on it though, quicy putting her bag of chips away and pulling another pen out of her hair. She flipped open her notebook and looked up at him again. " So, where did you live in empire?" she asked back in her profesional state. She could only spend so much time on one person.

Simon looked up and grinned, "I lived wherever the hell I could, actually. Most of the time I'd be livin' in an abandoned apartment or on some roof in one of the districts, but sometimes I'd resort to sleeping in an alleyway or two."

Eleanor nodded as she scribbled down more notes, throwing in a tiny sketch of an alleyway and a rooftop. She could always add pictures later. She herself had spent some time in some abandoned apartments or just made some fast friends. " How did you keep yourself nourished? " she asked, glancing up at him again. He certainly didnt look like he was going to die of hunger.
